There are various guidelines for how to improve mental health. Practicing yoga is one such guideline in place of undertaking conventional class of physical education for the purpose of mental health. Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics, which was published in the April Journal, conducted a study and it was co-led by the professor of Harvard Medical School.
What was found in the study?
The study divided randomly 12th and 11th grade students within a suburban Massachusetts High School into regular classes of physical education and yoga. Initially and after completion of the semester, students were given questionnaires to examine their levels of resilience, anxiety, stress and controlling of anger. It was found in the study that the measurement of emotional state became very disappointing for students undergoing the conventional class of education, when in case of students undergoing yoga improved a little or remained constant.
